MINGORA, Dec 25: Two women were killed and two boys sustained injuries when artillery shell hit their house in Alam Ghar area of Charbagh on Thursday.

The injured were rushed to a local hospital. Curfew was also imposed in Shakardara and Charbagh.

Sources said that residents of Shakar Darra held a protest demonstration against the ongoing military operation and called upon the authorities to give them time so that they could pick their belongings.

The residents have left their households at their homes and migrated to safer places to save their skins. The protestors also demanded end to indefinite curfew in the area.

Meanwhile, security forces pounded suspected militant hideouts with artillery shells in Shakardara and Charbagh areas of restive Swat. However, no casualty was reported.
