KARACHI, Dec 24: The provincial sports ministry has instituted two separate annual awards for ‘Best Sportsman’ and ‘Best Sportswoman’ of Sindh henceforth in the name of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

“The two outstanding sportspersons of 2008 will be picked soon after developing transparent criteria,” secretary sports Sindh, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, told Dawn on Wednesday.

He said the award which carry a sum of Rs100,000 apiece is the brain-child of Sindh Sports Minister, Dr. Mohammad Ali Shah, who believe that BB wanted to bring about a positive change in the society.

Shoaib Siddiqui hoped the launch of award would go a long way and create an urge among other sportspersons to lay their hands.
