LAHORE, Dec 24: Chairpersons of two more standing committees of the Punjab Assembly were elected unopposed here on Wednesday, while the election for the third committee could not be held.As the election for the committee on agriculture could not be held on Tuesday, the election for the communication and works committee could not be held on Wednesday.

The reason given was a ‘lack of quorum’, as opposition members (two for each body) did not turn up to take part in the election process for all three bodies, but insiders said the treasury could not field a unanimous candidate.
