Admission to Hazara University begins

MANSEHRA, Oct 25: The newly-established, Hazara University has started admissions in seven subjects on self-finance basses for its inaugural session.

According to the administration the university has started its operations in Dodhal, some 10km from here, and is enrolling students in computer and management sciences.

Admissions are open in seven subjects including, Bio-chemistry, Micro-biology, B.Sc computer, Mathematics, English, Education and BBA classes for four year-courses.

The last date for admissions is the third week of November.

Vice-chancellor Hazara University, Dr Ashraf Adil, told this correspondent by telephone from Peshawar, that classes would start either by the end of December 2001 or in the first week of January 2002.

He said that nowadays he is busy in meetings with the NWFP governor, minister, and secretary education to discuss matters related to the start of the classes.

He said that within four years they would be able to establish all the departments in the university including, PhD.

About the fee structure he said, “We will charge monthly and admission fees, but it cannot be called self-finance because admissions would be only on open merit”.
