KARACHI, Dec 23: Maymar Sports edged past Gulshan FC 1-0 and Baloch Mujahid came back into the game to beat Karachi United 3-1 in the two KASB Premier League Football (PLF) matches played at the CDGK Stadium on Monday.

The win brings Maymar Sports’ points tally to 22, winning them a spot in the circle of top eight teams vying for top honour in the playoffs. The decider was scored by Maymar’s striker Fazal Haq in the 60th minute.

In the other match, Karachi United got the lead in the 35th minute through their striker Zaid Kerai when he sent the ball directly into the goal from just the edge of the box. The score at interval was 1-0.

But the scene changed rather dramatically in the 73rd minute when striker Omar Bakhsh equalised through a spectacular volley from inside the penalty area.

Three minutes later, striker Naveed Raza changed the score line to 2-1 in Baloch Mujahid’s favour. And the 85th minute saw them adding one more through frontrunner Mohammad Ayub. The win brightens the team’s chances to reach the final eight.
