SUKKUR, May 12: A child was burnt alive while 10 others sustained serious burns after a fire broke out in Piral Almani village, near Pano Aqil, on Friday night.

Fifteen houses were completely gutted and another 15 partially damaged.

Reports said the blaze started in the wheat stock of Wazir Ahmed, when his house inmates were fast asleep.

The fire engulfed the surrounding area in no time, with the result an eight-year-old child, Zubair Ahmed Almani, was burnt alive.

Abdul Sattar, Wazir Ahmed, Ali Sher, Mubarik, Qaim, Rahib and four others received severe burn injuries who were admitted to Civil Hospital Sukkur.
