GUJRANWALA, May 12: Shopkeepers of the auto market on Sialkot Road on Sunday kept shutters of their shops down to condemn assault on their colleague by rivals.

Reports said some armed men attacked shopkeeper Ghayyas Ahmad over a monetary dispute. They injured Ahmad’s assistant Majid, smashed equipment and windows of the shops and fled firing in the air.

The shopkeepers blocked traffic on the road by burning tyres. They urged the police to take action against the assailants.

Nasim Bibi had threatened her husband Abdul Razzaq to leave the house after exchanging harsh words with him. Razzaq opened fire, killing her wife on the spot. Razzaq was stated to be an addict.
