NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Dec 13: The teachers and students of the Government Girls’ High School Moro held a rally and a sit-in outside the school’s gate on Saturday in protest against taluka municipal administration’s failure to drain out rainwater from the school premises.

The protesters who were led by Head Mistress Apa Razia Kamalani and teachers Rahima Siyal, Ms Faiza, Ms Shaista, Ms Farah and Ms Naheed complained that despite repeated complaints, the TMA had failed to drain out rainwater from the school.

The head mistress said that the roads of the town were still flooded with rainwater and students and teachers were unable even to hire a rickshaw to reach the school, which was holding its biannual examinations on

Dec 15.

The protesters demanded that the authorities drain out filthy water from the school and roads of the town so that students and teachers could attend the school and appear in examination.

Meanwhile, residents of Jamal Ujjan village led by Mohammad Urs Ujjan, Mohammad Moosa and Jurial Shah held a demonstration outside Tharushah press club in protest against taluka municipal administration of Bhirya.

The protesters complained that many roads and streets of the taluka were inundated with filthy water thanks to indifferent attitude of the taluka municipal administration.

The contractor who had got the Rs500,000 contract for the construction of drains had used substandard material in the construction and left the work incomplete, they alleged.

They demanded that the authorities hold an inquiry into the quality of work and get it completed on time.
