BADIN, Dec 13: Fear and confusion gripped villagers in coastal areas of Badin district on Saturday when a deafening explosion shook the region along the Arabian Sea.

Rahim Dhandal, head of a village carrying his name, said that he and a large number of other people had heard an explosion emanating from the south of their village around 7pm.

Sources in law enforcement agencies said they had heard rumours about the explosion and believed that if an explosion did occur it must have taken place somewhere near the Kori Creek.

Local journalists believed that the explosion happened in the sea near a protective embankment between Ahmed Rajo village and Jati.
