JERUSALEM, Dec 11: Israeli authorities are urging citizens to stay away from Goa for fear of attacks during year-end festivities in the Indian state, a government official said on Thursday.

“We firmly advise Israelis to avoid travelling to Goa to take part in celebrations organised on the beaches for Christmas and New Year’s eve,” Elkana Ar-Nof of the anti-terrorism agency told public radio.

“Those celebrations could be the target of attacks by Islamist extremists.”—AFP
