Lawyer, son booked

LAHORE, Dec 3: The Faisalabad district police officer (DPO) on Wednesday informed Justice Khalil Ahmad of the Lahore High Court that a lawyer and his son had been booked for obstructing the process of law by refusing to hand over a minor girl to her mother.

The DPO presented the FIR to the judge and assured him that the minor would be recovered and produced in the court on Friday.

On Tuesday, Justice Ahmad directed the police to register a case against lawyer Ajmal Khan Kakar and his son Gulraiz if they again refuse to hand over the girl to the bailiff. The judge passed this order on a petition by Humaira Gulnar, a resident of Daska, who sought the custody of her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter from her husband Gulraiz Khan.

The petitioner stated that her husband threw her out of the house and refused to let her daughter accompany her. On the court orders a bailiff visited the residence of Gulraiz Khan and showed his father Ajmal Khan Kakar the court orders for the custody of the girl. — Staff Reporter
