VEHARI, Nov 29: The district council on Saturday passed a resolution to condemn what it called the Punjab governor’s interference in the affairs of the provincial government.

The resolution was presented by Rao Shabbir Bilo, a member of the council and Thingi Colony union council nazim.

The resolution said the attitude of governor Salmaan Taseer was not good for the province and creating misunderstandings between the two coalition partners in Punjab.

It demanded the federal government should change the governor immediately in the best interest of the country and the province.

Chaudhry Zahid Anwar Wahla, another member of the district council and husband of PML-N MNA Tehmina Daultana, also criticised the governor’s attitude.

The house later passed the resolution unanimously.

District Naib Nazim Yousaf Kasalia presided over the council meeting. District Nazim Syed Shahid Mehdi Naseem was also present.

Later, the naib nazim adjourned the council meeting owing to lack of quorum.
