KARACHI, Nov 26: District Malir champions Sharafi Mohammadan reached the top of the points table (a position they now share with Ghani XI) with 24 points when they beat District South champions Lal Bakhsh Memorial 3-1 while Hazara Mohammadan surprised District Central champions Maymar Sports with a 1-0 win after an exciting encounter in the two KASB Premier League Football matches played at the CDGK Stadium on Tuesday.

Keeping ball possession for a major portion of the game, Sharafi Mohammadan were clearly the stronger side when they led 2-0 at halftime.

The first goal was scored by their striker Mohammad Khan in the 37th minute and the second came through striker Abdul Haleem’s solo attempt in the 39th minute.

The second session saw Haleem getting into action once again, when he dodged two Lal Bakhsh defenders to beat goalkeeper Gulzar Hussain in the 66th minute and give Sharafi their third goal.

Lal Bakhsh’s consolation goal was scored by their striker Mohammad Ayaz in the 78th minute.

In the other match, the goal scored by Hazara Mohammadan’s Arif Shahzad in the 52nd minute became the match decider when both Hazara and Maymar Sports failed to change the 1-0 score line.
