LANDI KOTAL, Nov 26: The bullet riddled body of an Afghan national was found in Tawda Mena locality of Ali Masjid on Wednesday.

Eyewitnesses said that a chit was also found with the body, claiming that the man was spying for the US forces.

Meanwhile, Bara-based militant organisations Lashkar-i-Islam and Haji Namdar group have opened their centres in Ali Masjid. This is for the first time that these two militant outfits have established their centres outside Bara.

SECURITY ALERT: The political administration of Khyber Agency put security forces at high alert in Bara tehsil the after Tuesday night’s rocket attacks on Peshawar, officials said.

Security forces were seen patrolling different roads in Bara. Forces also exchanged fire with suspected militants near Shagai Fort on Peshawar-Torkham road. Later, the militants targeted a government school in the same locality and partially damaged the school building.

The exchange of fire between law enforcement agencies and militants is the third incidents of its type during the last three days after the local administration adopted a new strategy to keep the militants away from Peshawar-Torkham highway.

In Torkham, the local organisation of custom clearing agents observed token strike on Wednesday to protest the kidnapping of Customs Deputy Collector Karam Elahi along with an inspector Sadiq Akbar, computer operator Adnan and his driver Bhutto on Tuesday.
