KHAIRPUR, Nov 24: The daughter of arrested peasant leader has appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan to take suo motu notice of the arrest of her father, Comrade Amir Bux Lashari, and order his release.

Ms Sanam Lashari told journalists in Shahan Lashari village on Sunday that her family did not expect justice from the police and added that their last hope for justice was Supreme Court of Pakistan, which may take suo motu notice and order a judicial inquiry into the matter.

Communist Party of Pakistan secretary-general Comrade Khadim Thaheem, Sindh Secretary Rauf Korai, Balochistan leader Aslam Bangalzai recently met the arrested leader of the Sindh Hari Committee, Comrade Ameer Bux Lashari, in jail.

Later, they told journalists that the peasant leader had been implicated in a fake case and sent to jail under a conspiracy hatched by a local landlord.
