QUETTA, Nov 24: Maulana Samiul Haq, the chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, has called upon the government to stop military operations in Balochistan and tribal areas.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he accused the US, India and Israel of creating chaos in the country to achieve their designs against the Ummah.

He said the government should work to foil the conspiracy hatched by the hostile states and resolve issues by peaceful means.

He said the military operations had destabilised the country and the only way to restore normalcy was to stop military actions.

He said the present rulers had been voted to power to change the policies of the Musharraf regime but they had done little to honour their commitment.

He condemned the use of force in Bajaur and other areas and said that had the government held dialogue with the militants the situation would not have deteriorated to the extent that it had.

He demanded that recommendations of the Shujjat-Mushahid parliamentary committee should be implemented to resolve the Balochistan issue.
