RAWALPINDI Nov 24: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) here on Monday issued a show-cause notice to a station house officer (SHO) seeking explanation as to why he had not completed investigations and submitted charge-sheet in a murder and kidnap for ransom case.

ATC-I Judge Chaudhry Habibur Rehman directed the SHO of Airport police to explain to the court in writing why there had been a delay in submitting the charge-sheet. He also asked him to submit it on December 10.

The court had directed the police official time and again to complete the investigation in a case of kidnapping for ransom and murder of a teenage boy in September.

According to available details, Imran Rasheed, Rizwan Rasheed and Ayaz were arrested by the police for kidnapping Fawad Hussain, a class XII student from Chaklala, and later killed him and threw his body in Murree.

The kidnappers demanded Rs5 million as ransom but killed the kidnapped boy before being traced and arrested by the police.

Meanwhile an additional session judge (ASJ) issued non-bailable arrest warrants of three police officials of Ganjmandi police station and sought their appearance in the court on December 1.

ASJ Ghulam Mehdi Khan issued the arrest warrants of two sub-inspectors (SIs), Mohammad Bashir and Ghulam Abbas, and an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Nadeem Zafar for not appearing in the court to record their statements in a narcotics case despite repeated summons.

In another case ASJ Mohammad Azam Ali issued bailable warrants for the arrest of a sub-inspector for not turning up in the court to record his statement in a narcotics case that was registered last year with Sadiqabad police.
