MIRAMSHAH, Nov 21: Two soldiers were injured when a vehicle in a convoy was hit by a bomb in North Waziristan on Friday.

Officials said the convoy was going from its garrison in Bannu to Mirmshah when the bomb placed on a road near Pirkali area, some 10 kilometres from here, was detonated by remote control. The vehicle was partially damaged.

After the blast, troops opened fire on a fleeing vehicle. Two men in the vehicle left it on the road and escaped.

The incident took place about 24 hours after a militant leader in North Wazriristan threatened to carry out attacks in southern parts of the NWFP to avenge.
