QUETTA, Nov 21: An anti-polio campaign will be launched here on Nov 24 and some 41,8163 children will be administered anti-polio drops.

About 10 new polio cases have been found in Balochistan over the past six months, most of them in districts bordering with Afghanistan.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, City Nazim Mir Maqbool Lehri said children would also be given vitamin “A” drops during the campaign.

EDO health Dr Aziz Ahmed Lehri and Unicef representative Dr Farooq Hameed were present on the occasion.

The nazim said that 839 teams had been set up for various areas, including the airport, railway stations, bus stands and border checkposts.

The teams comprise 1,678 employees of the health department and volunteers, he said.
