Wholesalers cut LPG cylinder prices

LAHORE, Nov 21: Lub Gas and Mehran LPG have reduced their LPG wholesale prices by Rs10-25 per 11.8kg cylinder in various parts of the country effective from Saturday.

“The latest price reduction is being made to encourage use of Liquefied petroleum gas,” said Fasih Ahmed, spokesman of both LPG marketing companies.

“We’re witnessing unusually lukewarm LPG demand and hope that the enhanced affordability of the commodity will be well received by the market.”

Since October, the LPG wholesale price has been reduced by up to Rs130 for an 11.8kg cylinder.

The wholesale price of an 11.8kg cylinder has been reduced from Rs720 to Rs710 in Karachi; from Rs725 to Rs700 in Hyderabad; from Rs730 to Rs715 in the Punjab; from Rs735 to Rs715 in Dakhni; and from Rs740 to Rs720 in the NWFP and the Northern Areas.—Staff Reporters
