Family kills robber

OKARA, Nov 19: A robber was killed and the son of the house owner was injured in crossfire during a house robbery.

Six robbers barged in the house of Ishaq in 44/2-L village early on Wednesday morning. Some members of Ishaq’s family resisted the robbers and crossfire ensued. In consequence, robber Iftikhar, son of Abdul Rehman of Pakpattan’s Pippli Chowk locality, died at the scene and Ishaq’s son Razzaq was injured.

The injured was sent to a Lahore hospital in a critical condition.

MONITORING SYSTEM: Sahiwal Divisional Commissioner Tariq Mahmood Khan said on Wednesday that a monitoring system had been evolved at the district, tehsil and union council level.

Speaking at a meeting at the Okara district coordination officer’s office, Khan said restoration of people’s confidence and eradication of corruption were the top priorities of the Punjab government. He ordered stern action against land grabbers and encroachers.
