VEHARI, Nov 18: A shop owner and his two employees were injured when a gas cylinder exploded in D-Block of Vehari city on Tuesday evening.
Reports said cylinders were being loaded on a truck when a cylinder exploded. Shopkeeper Israr Shah and his two employees, Ghaffar and Zahid, sustained injuries and were taken to DHQ Hospital.
Police are investigating.
COMMISSIONER: The commissioners system will not affect the district government setup as it will serve as a monitoring authority to look after revenue affairs. This was said by Multan Division Commissioner Syed Muhammad Ali Gardezi during his first visit to Vehari on Tuesday.
Mr Gardezi has been appointed commissioner at his hometown Multan. Talking to journalists at the Vehari DCO office, he said: “The local government system is a basic democratic dispensation and it will remain functional with no change.”
Earlier, he presided over a meeting of all district officers, including the Vehari EDOs. He said no corrupt official would be spared. Vehari DCO Khuram Agha was also present.
