ISLAMABAD, Nov 17: The Chief of Army Staff has said that the country’s valiant soldiers are fully capable of combating threats to the nation’s security.

Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani was speaking to troops at a function at Pano Aqil garrison on Monday to mark the centenary of an armoured regiment.

He praised the services and sacrifices of officers and jawans of the regiment.

Later Gen Kayani visited the Division Headquarters, where he was briefed about operational and administrative matters.

Earlier, the COAS laid a wreath at the martyrs’ monument and offered Fateha.

The Corps Commander of Karachi, Lt Gen Shahid Iqbal, accompanied the army chief.—APP
