LARKANA, Nov 15: The district support manager of the People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI), Ghulam Abbas Detho, on Saturday terminated services of Dr Irfan Shaikh, who had been posted as medical officer at the Basic Health Unit, Pathan, and issued show-cause notices to lower staff.

According to a press release, Mr Detho paid a surprise visit to the health unit and found entire staff including the medical officer absent. He had paid the visit over villagers’ complaints about irregularity of medical officer and the staff, it said.
