TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 13: Robbers killed a brick kiln owner and one of their own accomplices in a robbery bid on Thursday in a robbery in Chak 191-GB, 30 kilometres from here, the family of the deceased kiln owner says.

Police said three armed men held kiln owner Shabbir Ahmad at gunpoint who was travelling on his motorcycle. When Shabbir resisted them, robbers started firing and injured him. Robbers took away Rs30,000, motorcycle and a repeater gun from Shabbir and fled leaving behind Shabbir and the body of a robber.

Shabbir called his family through his cell phone which shifted him to the Rajana Rural Health Centre where he died of excessive bleeding. The family says that according to Shabbir’s statement the robber died of firing by his accomplices.

His relatives staged a demonstration at Rajana Chowk, alleging Shabbir remained unattended at hospital for two hours as no doctor was present.

They also alleged police also arrived at the crime scene late giving a room to robbers to flee. Police said the deceased robber could not be identified. The kiln owner's family claimed the body was of Lala Sindhi, an alleged hardened criminal.
