KARACHI, Nov 13: New Jubilee Insurance Company is going ahead with implementation of a broad based NJI Kashtkar crop insurance scheme with the commencement of Rabi borrowing on directive of the government and State Bank of Pakistan.

A press release of the company informs that the scheme has been launched in collaboration with a top private commercial bank with which a Memorandum of Understanding has already been signed.

A large number of farmers have already availed this insurance coverage.

The crop insurance scheme aims at protecting farmers against catastrophic loss arising from natural calamities by transferring the insurable risk to the company.

The company has put insurance documents on a Kashtkar Portal which is accessible to partner bank and is available round the clock.

The portal enables the bank officers to request coverage on behalf of the customers to obtain approval and a digitally secured insurance certificate in matter of minutes.

The portal, the release said has powerful reporting capabilities for monitoring disbursement pattern against geographic and seasons’ variables.
