Audit of PCB accounts sought

Published November 13, 2008

LAHORE, Nov 12: The Auditor General of Pakistan, through a letter to the PCB, has notified the cricket board that it wants to audit their accounts from the year 2002 to 2007.

Tanwir Ali Agha, Auditor General of Pakistan, has sent a letter to the PCB for this purpose.

While confirming the letter receipt, a top PCB official said on Wednesday that although the board’s chairman Ijaz Butt welcomed the move, he has advised the authorities to also get legal opinion regarding the matter from PCB’s lawyer.

“The PCB chief has no objection over the auditing but since the government has not been giving any funds to the PCB, the legal expert has some points that are to be noted before starting the move,” PCB’s Chief Operating Officer Saleem Altaf said.—Sports Reporter
