DERA GHAZI KHAN, Nov 12: Civil defense authorities have seized huge quantity of Iranian smuggled petrol when it was being delivered to a private filling station in Sadar police precincts on Wednesday.

The civil defense authorities raided the filling station when the consignment of Iranian smuggled fossil fuel/petrol brought from Baluchistan was being delivered by an oil container (MNH-9186).

The police registered a case against driver Riyaz on the report of Civil Defence Officer Qazi Shabir Ahmed and impounded the tanker.

It is vital to mention that there are several check posts of Punjab highway police, operations police and border military police and two of them are on the Dera-Quetta Road.

SESSION: Members of the district council showed their resentment against the district administration, especially the district coordination officer (DCO), in its session on Wednesday.

Convener Zubair Khosa presided over the session in which majority of members spoke against the DCO for what they called his “inept” administration. They expressed dissatisfaction over the current law and order situation.

Asim Zubair Khosa informed the house that members should come forward with development schemes which would be executed through citizen community board funds worth Rs400 million.

He stressed coordination among the treasury, opposition and the district administration.
