Published November 13, 2008

HYDERABAD, Nov 12: A police constable of Tando Allahyar was shot dead by the fleeing bandits, who had earlier looted the passengers of a wagon when the policemen signalled the car to stop near Hakra Mori police post on Tuesday night.

Two bandits had reportedly boarded a wagon (R-0136) as passengers from Hyderabad which was on its way to Mirpurkhas.

When the wagon reached near Sultanabad check post, the bandits deprived the passengers of their valuables at gunpoint and then disembarked and fled in a car which was following the wagon.

When the car was crossing Hakra Mori police post, a policeman Dil Murad Khaskheli signalled it to stop but the bandits resorted to firing as a result of which the policeman received bullet injuries and died when he was being rushed to the hospital.—Bureau
