FAISALABAD, Nov 11: The murder of a carpenter by his rivals sparked off protest in Chak Jhumra on Tuesday and people blocked Chiniot-Jhumra Road for hours, demanding early arrest of the accused.

Reports said some unidentified motorists came to the shop of Basharat Bajwa in Muzzafar Colony in Jhumra police precincts and shot him dead over enmity.

After the incident, his family members and scores of area people took out a protest rally, blocked Chiniot-Jhumra Road and demanded early arrest of the accused. The protesters burnt tyres and continued road blockade till the arrival of police highups. —Staff Correspondent
