Labour room death sparks protest

LAHORE, Nov 10: The family of a woman who died at the labour room of a private hospital in China Scheme of Gujjarpura, protested the alleged negligence of hospital staff on Monday.

Edhi officials said Ishrat was brought to the clinic for delivery of her third child, but she died after giving birth to the baby.

The Gujjarpura police said they were unaware of any such incident.

STABBED: A woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband over domestic issues in Usmanpura.

Kiran and husband Syed Irfan Hyder started argument over domestic issues which infuriated the latter and he killed his wife with repeated strikes of a knife.

Police arrested the accused with the murder weapon.

FOUND MURDERED: The body of a young man was found in the City Canal near Nursery Stop.

The Sattokatla police suspected the man, yet to be identified and appeared to be in 30s, was tortured to death. They said the body was apparently fresh as blood was oozing out of the nose.

A murder case was registered against unidentified killer(s) on behalf of the state.
