ATTOCK, Nov 10: As many as 1,070 bags of wheat and flour being smuggled to the NWFP from Attock were seized from five trucks on GT Road, police said.

On a tip-off, a raiding team led by district revenue officer Akramullah Khan Niazi intercepted three trucks and recovered 700 bags of wheat. One of the truck drivers, Mohammad Younis, was arrested while the other two fled.

The district administration has also sealed the flour mill from which the wheat bags were being smuggled besides registering a case against its manager.

In another attempt, 370 wheat flour bags were recovered from two trucks near Burhan. The drivers identified as Gohar Ali, Suhail Khan and Amanullah have been arrested.—APP
