OKARA, Nov 9: Railway police claimed to have seized four hand grenades from a passenger in a Karachi-bound Awam Express near Renala Khurd on Saturday night.

Police say that during checking they seized four hand grenades from Muhammad Ayub, who introduced him as army man hailing from Larkana. He was traveling from under strife Bajaur Agency to his hometown. Railway police registered a case against him.

SUSPENDED: District Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana suspended Inspector Javed Khan from services for torturing suspects Abdul Latif and Babar.

The inspector, also station house officer of B Division police station, detained both men for two days and tortured them to the extent that they fell unconscious.

Doctors refused to treat the men unless senior police officials were informed about the torture.

When the DPO came to know about the incident, he suspended Javed and started an inquiry into the matter.
