KARACHI, Nov 6: Zone-II Whites, Zone-VI Whites and Zone-V Blues reached the KCCA Under-17 Inter-zonal cricket tournament quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Zone-II Whites topped group ‘D’ after winning all their pool matches as they overpowered Zone-VI Whites by 52 runs to qualify for the last-eight stage at the TMC Ground. Mirza Ahsan Jamil starred in his team’s triumph by grabbing six wickets for 44. Zone-VI Whites, being at the second spot in group ‘D’, also made it to the quarters.

In another match played at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground, pacer Mohammad Aamir claimed five wickets for 63 to bowl Zone-V Blues to a 50-run victory over Zone-IV Blues.

In the third match of the day, Zone-III Blues crushed Zone-VII Blues by 105 runs at the KCCA Stadium. For Zone-VII Blues, off-spinner Osama Anwar bowled superbly to pick six wickets for 84, but to no avail.
