Karachi Kings win Veterans T20 title

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3: Karachi Kings won the inaugural National Veterans Twenty20 cricket tournament, beating Islamabad Royals by 32 runs in the final at the Islamabad Club Ground on Sunday.

Babar Basharat smashed 80 off 53 balls with 12 boundaries and a six and Akbar Alam contributed 50 as Karachi Royals, batting first, mustered 177 for four in the stipulated 20 overs.

Islamabad Royals, in reply, were restricted to 145 for eight in their quota of 20 overs.

Fawad Ijaz Khan, Karachi Kings captain, received the trophy from former Pakistan Test captain and newly appointed coach Intikhab Alam. Babar Bashart was name man-of-the-match.
