ISLAMABAD, May 10: The government has decided to purchase whatever wheat stock is offered by farmers at the support price of Rs300 per 40kg.

According to a press release, the decision will provide an opportunity to wheat growers to get fair return for their crop this year.

Necessary instructions in this regard have already been issued to wheat procuring agencies, including the Passco and the provincial food departments.

The government has also offered to traders and flour mills’ owners a loan facility at a concessional markup of 12 per cent to directly procure and market wheat from the growers.
