KHAIRPUR, Nov 2: Khairpur and Pir jo Goth police are interrogating three people taken into custody in connection with the murder of Tasleem Solangi. Police are also raiding different places for other accused.

The Pir jo Goth SPO told journalists that following statements of the father and mother of Tasleem Solangi before the magistrate, police have taken into custody one of the witnesses, Shakeel Solangi, deceased girl’s uncle Rahmatullah Solangi and another person for interrogation. Police raided various places for other accused failed.

Ms Zakra and Gulsher Solangi, the mother and father of Tasleem Solangi, brother Asif visited her grave in Hajna Shah graveyard on Saturday evening under strict police security and offered fateha.

Tasleem Solangi was brutally tortured and killed by her close relatives in March. Though Tasleem’s murder is said to involve a property dispute within the family but the murder was dubbed a case of karo-kari.

The police are putting in more efforts after it became a high profile case and Tasleem’s father was brought from Karachi to unfold details of horrifying torture the young girl had faced. Some legislators have raised the issue in parliament.

STRIKE: A strike was observed in Hingorja on Sunday in protest against incidents of robberies in the area.

Citizens Alliance president Dr Abdul Fattah Memon told journalists that recently 12 armed men robbed him cash of gold ornaments and other valuables. He also referred to some other cases in which a teachers leader and others were also robbed.
