HYDERABAD, Oct 31: The double murder case of local PML-Q leader Dr Shafiq Arain’s wife and driver is gathering more moss as now a Tahafuz-i-Azadari Council leader has jumped into the fray with the accusation that police did not accurately record the second FIR.

Council leader Fahad Anjum during a press conference accused the henchmen of Dr Shafiq Arain — main accused in the case — of harassing the complainant and his family. Dr Shafiq Arain is accused of killing his wife and driver Shakeel Junejo — a witness to his wife’s killing.

Ms Zainab Hashim and Shoukat Junejo, mother and brother, respectively, of slain driver were also present during the press conference.

According to Mr Anjum, the only crime of Shakeel was his witness to killing of Dr Shafiq’s wife by the doctor himself.

Shakeel had sought his brother’s help by informing him on cell phone, from the garage where he was hiding, that the doctor had killed his wife and may also murder him as he was a witness to it, he said.

Mr Anjum alleging distortions in the FIR had called for removing these immediately and also demanded protection to the family of the driver.
