Inter-school badminton

KARACHI, Oct 30: The girls’ semi-finals in the third JUC Inter-school badminton tournament will be an all-Beaconhouse School affair as their four outfits have proved their mettle at the JUC premises on Thursday.

The Beaconhouse School System Jubilee Campus meets Beaconhouse School System North Nazimabad while Beaconhouse School System Cambridge PECHS faces Beaconhouse School System Secondary PECHS in the two semi-finals to be played on Friday.

Similarly, two teams of The City School — PAF Chapter and Gulshan Campus — have stormed into the last four of boys’ category. The other two teams are Foundation Public School and Beaconhouse School System Cambridge PECHS.

The City School PAF Chapter bt Beaconhouse School System Jubilee Campus 2-1. (Faraz Butt bt Salman Shaukat 15-13, 13-15, 15-8; Haris and Ali Zaman lost to Salman Shaukat and Wali 13-15, 11-15; Ali Zaman bt Asim 16-14, 15-11).

Foundation Public School bt Fahims School System O-level 2-0. (Umer Daraz bt Zain 15-4, 15-11; Umer Daraz and Mohsin bt Hammad and Murtaza 15-4, 15-10).

Beaconhouse School System Cambridge PECHS bt Jinnah University College 2-1. (Valeed Kidwai lost to Zeeshan Salim 10-15, 5-15; Valeed Kidwai and Hamza bt Zeeshan Salim and Saad Shahid 13-15, 15-9, 15-10; Anasul Islam bt Usman Salim 13-15, 15-11, 15-13).Girls team event:

Beaconhouse School System North Nazimabad bt Jinnah University College 2-0. (Sama Asif bt Anum Shahid 15-5, 15-6; Sama Asif and Areeba bt Anum Shahid and Hania 15-9, 15-9).
