LAHORE, Oct 27: The federal government has also recalled Mansoor Sohail, Pakistan Cricket Board’s media director, after Shafqat Naghmi was sacked as Chief Operating Officer.

Nahgmi and Mansoor, both senior bureaucrats, were working at the PCB on deputation at the request of former PCB chief Dr Nasim Ashraf.

After Dr Ashraf’s resignation and upon assuming charge of the PCB, the new chairman Ijaz Butt asked the federal government to recall both Mansoor and Naghmi as he did not need their services.

Naghmi had handed over the charge to Acting Director Human Resources Dr Ahsan Hameed Malik. An inquiry was pending against Mansoor for breaching the PCB media policy over sending reporters to Canada for the recent Twenty20 four-nation event.

Mansoor was to join the PCB on Monday after a 10-day leave, but a letter from the federal ministry was received the same day, asking the PCB to send him back to the ministry.
