Riaz Fatyana lashes out at Chaudhrys

Published October 27, 2008

LAHORE, Oct 26: Charging the Chaudhrys of Gujrat with “failure” to lead the party, PML-Q forward bloc member MNA Riaz Fatyana says they must immediately relinquish their offices for a better leadership.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, he said: “The Chaudhry brothers must at once resign from their party offices as they have completely failed to run its affairs and they should be replaced with the leadership having a new political approach.”

He held the Chaudhrys responsible even for the PML-Q’s defeat in Punjab in the Feb 18 polls.

He alleged that nepotism was rife in the party as all important offices had been given to one family damaging party interests in Punjab as it sailed better in Sindh, Balochistan and the NWFP.

Answering a question, he said he had not been disloyal to the party rather it were the Chaudhrys who betrayed former prime minister the late Muhammad Khan Junejo and Mian Nawaz Sharif and they must be held accountable for the ‘sin.’
