TAXILA, Oct 26: Law-enforcement agencies here on Sunday claimed to have unearthed a plot to carry out suicide blasts, and recovered explosives and two vests from the possession of the suspects.

Sources said eleven persons were also arrested from different parts of Taxila and Wah Cantonment during the last 24 hours on the charges of their involvement in terrorist activities.

The disclosure of the plot and the subsequent arrests were made on the basis of information extracted from three brothers who were arrested from Aslam Market, Wah Cantonment, on Thursday evening. These accused - Amjad Khan, Saeed Khan and Iqbal Khan - belonged to the NWFP and had been running a shoe shop at a local market for the last five years. The sources said the three brothers had been under the watch of the law enforcers following the suicide attack on ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan in Charsadda. The sources said information provided by the three accused led to the arrest of two more suspects from whom the explosives and vests used in suicide attacks were recovered.

Later, nine more persons were picked up - three from Aslam Market, two from Nawababad and the remaining from Banni Mohallah and Faisal Town. More arrests were also expected, said the sources, adding the names of the arrested persons were not being disclosed due to security reasons.
