MIRPURKHAS, Oct 25: Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali has said that efforts are under way at government level to provide speedy justice to people.
Addressing members of the District Bar Association here on Saturday, he said that judges would be appointed on merit to fill vacancies in lower courts. He said that efforts are under way to provide justice to masses. He said that there would be no compromise on supremacy of law.
The Chief Justice of Sindh High Court said that lawyers could play a vital role for the progress of the country through hard work. He said that government was taking measures to provide facilities to litigants, solve problems of lawyers’ fraternity and improve judicial system. He announced Rs150,000 for the bars’ library.
President DBA Mirpurkhas, Salahuddin Panwhar, welcomed the chief justice and other guests. He dwelt upon problems of bar and appreciated performance of the chief justice as advocate, justice and chief justice for providing justice and ensuring supremacy of law.
Earlier, he planted a tree in the premises of session court. Later, Justices Khilji Arif Hussain, Ameer Hani Muslim, Mohammed Athar Saeed and Sajjad Ali Shah also planted trees. Sessions Judge Mirpurkhas, Rasheed Ahmed Soomro, was also present on the occasion.
