Installation of power pylon opposed

Published October 26, 2008

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25: The residents of Bhara Kahu have demanded that the federal minister for water and power and chairman Wapda should stop the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) from installing an electricity pylon on the right side of the main Subban Road.

According to the residents, the pylon will block the way to a good number of houses.

A statement issued by the affected people said value of their houses and land would fall considerably if the pylon was installed because no one would buy the land which had no right to a proper way.

The residents also appealed to the executive engineer and senior divisional officer of Bhara Kahu to intervene in the matter and resolve the issue which could also create a rift between the affected families and those to whom the electricity is being supplied.
