ATTOCK, Oct 24: An under-trial prisoner of Attock jail died at the district headquarters hospital here on Friday.

Nazar Hussain was shifted to the hospital on Wednesday after an asthma attack.

When contacted, the jail superintendent Syed Babar Ali said the 50-year-old man was in detention since October 15 in a narcotics case. He said he was an asthma patient and was being treated in the jail hospital.

Soon after his death, the district and sessions judge directed judicial magistrate Ameer Mukhtar Gondal to probe into the incident. Later, Mr Gondal visited the hospital and handed over the body to the heirs after legal formalities.
