ISLAMABAD, Oct 22: Chairpersons of five more National Assembly standing committees were elected unopposed in separate meetings held at the Parliament House on Wednesday.

The committees included parliamentary affairs, science and technology, finance and revenue, health and local government and rural development.

The following MNAs were elected as chairpersons of various committees:

S.A. Iqbal Qadri, Dr Abdul Qadir Khanzada and Nadeem Ehsan of the MQM were elected chairmen of the committees for parliamentary affairs, science and technology and health, respectively.

According to a press release, Rozuddin Khan of the ANP proposed the name of Dr Khanzada which was seconded by Ms Shahnaz Sheikh.

The meeting was also attended by Arbab Alamgir Khan, Abdul Qadir Patel, Jamshaid Ahmed Dasti and Mir Dost Muhammad Mazari.

PPP’s Fauzia Wahab and Haji Rozuddin Khan of the Awami National Party (ANP) were elected chairpersons of the house committees on finance and revenue and local government and rural development.
