KARACHI, Oct 21: Sindh Minister of Commerce and Industry Rauf Siddiqui apprised the prime minister of the unrest among industrialists over the problem of load-shedding and the tariff hike by the KESC.

According to a press release the prime minister assured the trade and industry of resolving the problem.

In this connection an important meeting will be held in the Governor House on Wednesday, which would review the situation and make important decisions.

The minister also held talks with the Sindh chief minister, chairman National Reconstruction Bureau Dr Asim Hussain and adviser to the prime minister on Finance Shaukat Tareen and discussed with them the issue of the recent tariff hike.

A high-level meeting has also been called in Islamabad on the directive of President Zardari, which would discuss problems faced by the trade and industry in the wake of the present economic crisis.

Rauf Siddiqui appreciated the role of the trade and industry in the present crisis for not taking any action adding to the difficulties of the government.

He expressed the confidence that traders and industrialists could play a positive role in making the state progressive and prosperous.
