KARACHI, Oct 15: A fine spell of spin bowling by Shah Ali Zafar inspired St Patrick’s High School to a comfortable six-wicket win over Bay View High School in the first KGA Ian Fyfe Memorial Twenty20 inter-school cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

Leg-spinner Zafar captured three for 15 in four overs to restrict Bay View to a modest 98 for nine in 20 overs.

The only batsmen to shine were Ozair Qaiser (29 off 31 balls) and skipper Raza Mehdi (22 off 22 balls).

St Patrick’s required just 14.5 overs to knock off the runs for the loss of four wickets with opener Raheel Saeed striking 20 off 28 deliveries.

Their skipper Aakash Arun also had a good game as he took two catches, made one stumping and ran out Haider Tahir for a duck.

Summarised scores:

BAY VIEW HIGH SCHOOL 98-9 in 20 overs (Ozair Qaiser 29, Mehdi Raza 22; Shah Ali Zafar 3-15); St PATRICK’S HIGH SCHOOL 99-4 in 14.5 overs (Raheel Saeed 20).

Thursday’s fixture: South Shore School v Beacon House Jubilee Campus.
