MIRPURKHAS, Oct 15: Chakki owners and shopkeepers are selling wheat flour for Rs30 per kg in the city and its outskirts - much higher than the price fixed by the government.

Mirpurkhas Chakki Owners Association, Vice-Chairman Rasheed Abbasi said that the Food Department had reduced wheat quota of chakkis to nine bags per stone which was a short quantity and grinded in two days. Later on, they were compelled to buy costlier wheat from the open market, he added. He demanded an increase in wheat quota to chakkis.

REINSTATEMENT: An official of the Sindh Ombudsman office has announced that 282 sacked employees from Grade 1 to 4 of the Education Department Sanghar have been reinstated on the order of Ombudsman.

Mirpurkhas Region Director, Shakir Hussain Jafri said that the salaries of these employees have also been issued.

According to a handout, he said that Naib Qasid of the Education Department district Sanghar Mashooq Ali Mari submitted an application in the office of Sindh Ombudsman with the plea that they were recruited in 2007 but were deprived of salaries.

After completion of proceeding of his application, Sindh Ombudsman ordered to reinstate employees of Grade-1 to 4, recruited in 2007 before the imposition of ban on recruitment and also release their salaries.

Mr Jafri handed over the cheques of salary of 282 employees of Education Department Sanghar to district accounts officer Sanghar.
