LAHORE, May 9: The federal government has finalized the Freedom of Information Ordinance which will be taken up at the next cabinet meeting for its approval.

This was stated by federal Law Minister Dr Khalid Ranjha while talking to reporters here after a function on Thursday.

He said a higher literacy rate and access to education was essential for durable and uninterrupted democracy in the country.

Dr Ranjha expressed his concern over the rising trend in the private sector to make money in the name of spreading and promoting education.— Staff Reporter
